kyle & naomi Devolder
Naomi has spent over a decade in retail, helping customers find the right product at the right price — always with an eye for detail and a heart for service.
In 2008, Kyle began professionally designing and installing paneling and ceiling treatments for homeowners. Through that hands-on experience, we quickly recognized a gap in the retail space — contractors needed better access to quality materials and a smoother buying experience.
So in 2017, we opened So Cal Trim with one goal: provide exceptional materials, delivered on time, with a level of service that truly supports the people building beautiful spaces.
While running So Cal Trim, we continued designing rooms — both for clients and in our own home. Creating spaces has always been more than business for us — it’s personal. It’s what we love.
In 2024, that passion evolved into Aster & Cedar.
Aster & Cedar was created to be more than a supplier of molding, doors, and flooring. We wanted to offer a thoughtfully curated resource for contractors and homeowners alike — from essential building materials to custom pieces, furniture, and finishes that truly transform a space.

What Does Aster & Cedar Mean?
Like a marriage, the name represents the joining of two passions.
The Aster flower — a star-shaped, daisy-like bloom — symbolizes love, wisdom, faith, and protection. It blooms later in the season, representing resilience and beauty that deepens with time. With its golden center and hundreds of delicate petals, it reflects both warmth and intricate design — a nod to Naomi’s love for thoughtful, layered spaces.
The Cedar tree represents strength, longevity, and adaptability. Naturally resistant and enduring, cedar has been valued for centuries for its durability and beauty. It symbolizes foundation — the steady craftsmanship and structural creativity that Kyle brings to every project.
